Vila Viniteca, within its role of promoting and disseminating wine culture, includes an important tasting program. From initiations to wine tasting and monographs from different areas or wineries, to pairing dinners with the most renowned winemakers. It also carries out free presentations and tastings with the participation of oenologists who present their projects to us.
A tradition of the Born neighborhood
Vila Viniteca was founded in 1932 in the Born district of Barcelona. Since those years, Joaquim Vila has already sold boxes of wine and liquor to restaurants in the area. In 1993, he became associated with Francisco Martí, owner of the Ca N’Estruc winery in Esparreguera, Barcelona. Martí’s family had been linked to the world of wine since 1548, and together they opened a new wine shop on Calle Agullers, right next to the gastronomy shop.
Over the years they have expanded the wine offer, selecting emerging producers and incorporating them into their catalog of exclusive wines from the distributor. Over time, many of them have become large and renowned winemakers. Currently, Vila Viniteca exclusively represents some of the best Spanish and international wineries and its greatest strength is distribution to the best restaurants and hotels.
