The origin of TOUS jewellery
The history of TOUS goes back more than a century of family tradition. In 1920, Salvador Tous Blavi began his journey as a watchmaking apprentice. Years later, in 1930, he moved to Manresa to open his own establishment.
In 1953, his son Salvador Tous Ponsa joined the business together with his future wife Rosa Oriol. Over time, and alongside their four daughters, they transformed the family business into the internationally recognised brand it is today, with more than 400 stores in 45 countries.
One of the most iconic elements of the brand is its famous bear. The story dates back to 1985, when Rosa Tous, the company’s vice president, saw a teddy bear in a shop window that reminded her of childhood memories. Inspired by that image, she decided to reinterpret it in gold, turning it into the most representative symbol of the brand.
